Clubs eye striker Jackson

News emerged early this morning(22/05) , that Town marksman Kayden Jackson may be the shock target of several championship clubs.

Jackson, whose contract runs until the summer of 2021, with the club holding an additional year, may be keen to capitalise on a good season which saw the striker rebound from scoring only 4 goals (all competitions) last season to being the clubs top goalscorer with 11 goals in 36 appearances.

It was believed the club had been close to striking a contract with the striker earlier in the season but talks seemingly stalled. Now, with the global pandemic meaning EFL clubs are in a state of limbo, the two parties are believed to be some way off striking a new deal.

It was revealed earlier in the season that Jackson had been watched by League one rivals Peterborugh, however there had been no news of clubs higher up the pyramid until today. Whether championship clubs now look to make a measured gamble on the Town striker, following the news that club and player are some way apart in their contract discussions, remains to be seen.
