Town linked with midfielder Robson

Ipswich Town are today being linked with former Sunderland midfielder Ethan Robson according to reports in The Portsmouth News

Robson, 23, has recently spent time on loan with Grimsby and Dundee.

The midfielder, currently a free agent following his release, is said to be weighing up a number of League 1 options with Portsmouth and Oxford also said to be keen.

Robson has scored 5 goals in 38 senior career appearances.

Last season, while on loan at League 2 Grimsby, Robson made 16 appearances with 0 assists.

So perhaps not the creative spark Town fans might be looking for in an already packed area of the squad.

The link could primarily be down to Jimmy Walker's connection with Sunderland having been the Black Cats Goalkeeper coach prior to joining the Blues. So the coach will have prior knowledge of the player.
